I (reluctantly) drew these digital drawings (mostly) in Procreate. If they weren't drawn in Procreate, I drew them in Krita on my PC using a cheap Wacom tablet. A couple years ago I bought my wife an iPad and now I feel financially obligated to use it every once in awhile, even though I fundamentally hate drawing. I also drew all the site assets you see aside from the main background, which is a piece of concept art from Fallout: Tactics. Enjoy!
Please note that the images below are thumbnails (smaller versions of the actual scan) in order to minimize bandwidth consumption. If you want to see the full-sized version, click the thumbnail to open the HQ image in a separate browser tab.
Sep.01.2025 This isn't really a triptych A work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections. , but I just like that concept so much that I used the term anyways. I drew this as a challenge to myself to use a limited color palette. Enjoy your breakfast!
Jun.02.2025 A little character I made up while watching the movie, Igby Goes Down Directed by Burt Speers, 2002. . Not sure it really had anything to do with the movie, but he is awfully smug-looking, just like Igby.
May.22.2025 My wife asked me to draw her a doodle while we were sitting on the couch watching a movie It was the Minecraft movie. :P and this is what came out of it. I used a palette I found on Lospec, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. I will update this description if I ever think of what it was.
Jan.11.2025 A silly, half-traced image of Dr. Orpheus from the Venture Bros., an Adult Swim show from the mid-late 2000s. It's definitely a show that caters to dudes that are into edgelord humor, but I really just love all the side character arcs. Dr. Orpheus is by far my favorite mostly because of this episode which is where the still image comes from.
Dec.03.2024 A Wintertime doodle with a (at the time) new Procreate brush. Most of this doodle is mid but I love the knife (minus the stupid pen nib), the weird helmet at the top-middle, and the petri dish full of teeth.
Oct.02.2024 A half-assed, half-finished self-portrait. I kinda hate it which is why I never finished it.
Sep.24.2024 A cute little character I drew in Krita. This was part of a larger doodle but I just love this design; the rest of it was trash.
Aug.12.2024 You oldheads may remember this illustration from Salty 3.0... it used to greet you before you entered the site. I drew this on a flight to Chicago on a whim, and it ended up sparking the entire design for the 3rd iteration of the Lair.
Jun.01.2024 A quick doodle of a raggedy, skeezy cat character named "Kit P. Kat."
Apr.30.2024 A still-life image of my (personally customized) lighter and fingerboard It's a Tech Deck that costs more money and isn't made of plastic. . While exporting this image from the iPad, I discovered I had also drawn the Tragic Clown from the original Sims on a hidden layer. I thought it was funny so I kept it. I used the incredible KolorMarc brushes for Procreate to do the still life parts.
Mar.01.2024 I do a lot of self-portraits... I don't know if it's because I'm horribly vain, have a negative self-image problem, or both. 😛 Again, I used True Grit Texture Supply's KolorMarc brushes for this one.
Feb.23.2024 I drew this as a part of a sticker design for my old band, GOLD STAR. It's a direct rip-off of Lammy, a character in the PaRappa the Rapper games. All I did was change her outfit and guitar to look like me!
Jan.2023 I worked on this for over a month; it took blood, sweat, and tears. It used to serve as the frame for my website in its third iteration, Slug 3.0.
Jan.12.2024 Jesus Christ, another self-portrait... well at least this one was specifically made for the website, right? RIGHT?! This one looks like the real me more than any of the other ones, honestly.
Jan.2024 This is a drawing of my wife, Roach. I used it in Slug 3.0 as a decoration. I may bring it back someday because I think it's hilarious.. and it's true: my wife is always right; it's annoying AND endearing.
Sep.2023 This is an unused draft for the Slug 3.0 redesign I published back in early 2024. I didn't end up using the main asset on the bottom-left, but I did utilize all the rest! I ended up keeping the general aesthetic to make the frame you saw a few posts above this one.
Sep.2023 This is another unused asset that I drew for Slug 3.0 that I never got around to incorporating, but it's a cool little character. I ripped the pose off an old B2B DJ flyer from the '90s that I found on Pinterest.
Sep.02.2023 This guy is my go-to doodle when I'm drawing, as you've seen above. His name is Gobgob. The texture in this one is juicy.
Oct.22.2022 This is the first thing I drew on the wife's iPad right after she got it. It's a midcentury-themed poster depicting my favorite inanimate object in our house, which we call the "Sapphic Ranch." It's a really cool tension lamp that extends from the floor to the ceiling; it looks just like it does in the picture!
?.?.2021 This is a quick doodle I did in Krita with just my keyboard and mouse. It depicts the character Maria (in her android form) from the movie, Metropolis Fritz Lang, 1927. , which is one of my absolute favorite movies.
?.?.2021 I drew this on my shitty Android phone sometime in 2021. I was working a lot of 16 hour shifts at the time and barely slept. This Picasso-esque drawing came to me in a dream during this period of labor-induced insomnia.
Oct.01.2021 I used to be really obsessed with dentside Fords; I even owned a 1975 F-250 for awhile. They're incredible trucks honestly: a true American classic. I made this in Illustrator when I was first learning how to use it; I still don't really know how to use it.
This is exactly what my F-250 looked like aside from the goofy black wheels.
05.01.2021 Again, my main man Gobgob gets a feature. This is around the time I came up with this character concept. Graffiti with stencils was my first real love of an art medium. All of my designs (but this one) are lost to time but I made a ton of them in high school and college. I designed this as a stencil and blew it up to the size of four letter-sized pieces of paper, then cut it out of cardstock with an Xacto knife and spent a week (totally not) spraying it up all over town. Ah to be young and (not) defacing public property.. 🥰
Mar.2018 I didn't have a way to digitally draw until a few years ago, but I did get to borrow someone's iPad for a quick sketch (occasionally) back in the day. This is a quick sketch of my good friend whom I've played music with for the better part of a decade now. I think it looks cool considering my lack of skill at the time.
Jun.2017 This crude sketch is from the first time I got my hands on a tablet you could actually draw on. I drew this self-portrait and the next image you'll see in an afternoon. This predated the days of Procreate; I did this is some terrible free app that my ex-girlfriend had on her 1st generation iPad using some terrible stylus she got for free from the cell phone store.
Jun.2017 I think it's really funny that the first digital drawing I ever did is of a PBR bottle. College was something else; I'm really not sure why I made a shitty beer such a big part of my personality. I suppose that comes with the territory of being 20. Again, I drew this is some terrible free app on a 1st generation iPad using an equally terrible stylus. It's very "Redbubble 2016" core.
