During my quintessentially-2000s childhood, I loved digging through folder trees and scouring for hidden files in games, software, and movies. "CD-ROM/DVD-ROM bonus content" was a very popular gimmick of the time period, so it was to be expected that most physical media would have special content only accessible from a PC. I would scour discs for this content and then save it directly to whatever flash drive or computer I had on hand. Luckily, I've always been pretty responsible with my digital data, so most of that stuff has been carried over to each new computer I've had since I was 8 or 9, which is almost 20 years' worth of data!
I am slowly working through this mass of data I've been hauling around for decades and filing it away. Eventually, this page will house my archive of vintage desktop wallpaper in a myriad of resolutions and juicy, ancient-format aspect ratios.
